My Personal Weather Station
In Hamburg Is Now
A Member Of The
WEATHER WATCHER NETWORK !!
I received an e-mail from WCCO WEATHER WATCHER Greg Boe who lives in Chaska (Minnesota). He asked me to add his local weather conditions to this HAMBURG WEATHER WEBPAGE. Since the inception of the HAMBURG WEATHER WEBPAGE, only fully automated Personal Weather Stations that use the WEATHER UNDERGROUND weather reporting 'format' were included.
However, I have now designed an 'upgrade' to this Webpage that will allow Greg, as well as anyone else who wants their local automated weather conditions posted on my HAMBURG WEATHER WEBPAGE but have 'non-conforming' Personal Weather Stations, to be included. The only requirement is that information from your Personal Weather Station must be automatically uploaded to a site somewhere else on the Internet. Then, I'll provide a 'link', on this Webpage, to that Website. (Like I've done for Greg as shown to the right.)
WELCOME TO GREG !!!

The WEATHER WATCHER NETWORK is a way for weather enthusiasts to connect to WCCO's meteorologists and our communities by sharing our weather observations. This exclusive information gives WCCO's meteorologists a 'picture' of how weather is changing around our region. WCCO also shares information provided by members of the WEATHER WATCHER NETWORK on all of their weathercasts.
WCCO's WEATHER WATCHER NETWORK members are your neighbors - the ones who are always talking about last night's storms, tomorrow's chance of snow and the cool cloud formation we saw last week. The reports we submit come from our own simple thermometers, rainfall gauges or more sophisticated Personal Weather Stations (PWS) located at our homes, our schools and our cabins. We tell WCCO meteorologists how much rain or snow fell, how fast the wind is blowing and how the temperatures are changing. We also share our photos and videos of neat, weather related sights and we can also SEND DIRECT ALERTS to WCCO's team of meteorologists if we see severe or unusual weather in our communities.
Becoming a WCCO WEATHER WATCHER NETWORK member is fast and easy. If you have an outdoor thermometer and a rain gauge, APPLY TODAY to be a part of this 'dedicated army' !!
Having been operational for only three years, the WEATHER WATCHER NETWORK, coordinated by WCCO Staff Meteorologist Mike Augustyniak, now boasts 1,700 members and counting. Each year, WCCO invites WEATHER WATCHER NETWORK members to its studios in downtown Minneapolis as an expression of appreciation for our loyalty in providing information about weather conditions in our areas. Breakfast is served and tours are conducted of the Weather Center, the television 'set' from where WCCO newscasts are broadcast in addition to visiting the well known WCCO 'Rooftop'.
This was my first time of being able to attend the WCCO WEATHER WATCHER NETWORK 'Appreciation Day' put on by WCCO. I must say, I was absolutely and totally impressed !! The food and refreshments were excellent and plentiful, Chief Meteorologist Chris Shafer and his staff were very cordial and accommodating and the information that was presented and discussed was very interesting, indeed. Additionally, the Meteorologist In Charge of the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Chanhassen, Todd Krause, also gave a very timely two hour presentation about severe weather; how storms and tornados form, the elements needed and the difference between a 'wall cloud' and a 'shelf cloud'.
All in all, it was an interesting and tremendous experience to participate in and I'm already looking forward to next year's event. In the meantime, watch for "Hamburg" to scroll across the bottom of your television screen during the 'weather portion' of WCCO's newscasts. The information displayed are ACTUAL WEATHER CONDITIONS in our city as recorded by my Personal Weather Station (PWS). PLEASE CLICK HERE. And HERE.
